Landscaping professionals visiting FutureScape 2023 will be some of the first to see the Rolawn Group’s newest offerings: site-specific topsoils for contaminated land remediation and a Sustainable Drainage System.

Utilising an abundance of technical expertise and exacting sourcing protocols, Rolawn is now able to provide a solution for landscaping and construction professionals where they need to import topsoil that complies with the most stringent standards associated with contaminated land remediation, for example from YALPAG (Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Pollution Advisory Group).

With this latest development, the group is offering manufactured-to-order topsoils, to specification, with delivery in bulk, to anywhere on the UK mainland.

The solution is the result of successful collaboration with stakeholders on a housing development where the local authorities required all imported materials to be safe, free of contamination and fit for purpose. The developers looked beyond the British Standard for topsoil, following guidance produced by YALPAG.

Sales and Marketing Director for Rolawn, Jonathan Hill, said: “This product development aligns with the group’s position as a champion of quality, consistency, innovation, and environmental sustainability. Previous research into topsoil health revealed an alarming percentage of products on the market that did not meet the standards claimed by the suppliers. Running through our DNA is the sharing of informed, correct knowledge to help horticulture and construction professionals understand the challenges they face as expectations around topsoil traceability and quality heighten.”

Hallstone’s sister company, BioScapes, which focuses on delivering biodiversity solutions that positively impact wildlife and environmental conservation, has recently added a unique sustainable drainage system (SuDS) to its product range.

The BioScapes SuDS planter manages rainwater run-off and delivers Biodiversity Net Gain, via its patented system of integrated wildlife habitats. A specialist SuDS topsoil has also been developed with superior water management properties. The BioScapes SuDS unit delivers against all four pillars of SuDS as set out in the CIRIA SuDS Manual guidance.

Finally, Hallstone, will be celebrating the fact that its stockists have increased their sales by over 50% in 2023, following the brand being repositioned as a trade-only offering and visitors to the Hallstone stand will have the opportunity to win great prizes by taking part in the popular ‘Hallstone Forklift Challenge’
